Cool edit but your bit rate was really low and I think it ruins your vid. Try exporting at 2500kbps that should look great. Also, export it at 1280x720 if you can. Basically it's better to let us do the work on the compression.
What are you editing on? There are others that have had the letterboxing problem. It seems like each piece of software has a tiny box somewhere that is checked by default to add letterboxes "smartly". If you uncheck that box it could clear up your problem.
You're going to experience a little loss when we convert for the web, but it should be fairly minimal. I've found that for some reason using .mp4 can create funky conversion artifacts. If possible try an .mov wrapper with H.264 codec.
Do me a favor and send me a private message with the results. If we need to work further lets do it out of the forums until we can publish a successful method for CS3.

I have tried exporting at 5,000kpbs (5mbit) and 1280x720, and im still getting some letter boxing and it still lookg mushy....

Thats about 90megs
and the original exported .mp4 file with those settings (the one i uploaded) looks much better on my computer (compared to the one uploaded)
