1080p What class?

Calzor_Suzay

I have the new 1080p on pre order with 2 8gb class 4 memory cards though pov cameras.

I'll be recording at 720p 60fps and my concern is they won't be fast enough, founded or don't worry?

POV cameras have told me it'll be fine but then said they don't sell Class 6 8gb anyway so they're going to say that.

Here's an old post copy re speed... I think the new 1080p cam does abt 10mbits per sec max write ( not positive) Since the class 6 cards wrote at 10+mb/sec I believe you'll be just fine with them. Class 4 cards may be on the edge at max cam record...tests will tell and the cam doesn't always operate at max level ...depends on mode/conditions.
......
SNIP; I went with the Transcend 8gb/c6 cards...at the time they were $15 each (now about 17 from Amazon).... they have a good write speed as per the test below;
===============================================
I Used a drive test prgm call HDTune (hdtune.com).
Results....
(both class 6 cards came in similar results)
To make a long story short, the class 6 cards at the higher file sizes (which we use) had a READ speed of over 15+MB/sec and a WRITE speed of 10+MB/sec.

I use 8GB Class 6 in both cameras and my phone. Amazon lists, Patriot, I think or Transend 16GB Class 6 but with shipping it's about $85.00. I think I'll take my trip and work with the two or 3 8GB chips before making more purchases. Did get Lens Filters and mounting solutions today for the trip. Filters ready, mount ready when I get back. Should be able to mount solidly and hidden in front and rear in stationary position while keeping my helmet cam looking around.
