I would like to use my ContourHD for hunting purposes, but I don't think the loud beeps when turned on and off are going to keep deer around for long. Anyone know how to make it where it doesn't beep?

there is a firmware update for that, contact support@vholdr.com
also if you put the record switch forward (in the record position) when you boot up the camera then after the lights go out at the back you put the record switch back to stop, and hay presto the camera wont beep when you cycle between record and stop. it will revert back to normal next time you boot the camera, so if you dont record for 10mins and the camera shuts down you will have to redo the sequence to put it into "quiet" mode. hope that helps as well :-)
I thought starting the camera with record forward not put it into firmware update mode?
no that only applied to the vholdr not the contour models, they decided to put the silent mode in as it was requested so much with the vholdr for hunting purposes.
