Just got my camera today. Was wondering what is the current firmware and how do you get the new versions?
My camera is at 1.26 according to the FW_RTC file.

1.29 isn't a global release, it was made to accommodate some manufacturing tweaks for Contour. No need to upgrade, we'll let you know if a public release is out.

Aw, the new one I just got from Twenty20 today is still "only" 1.26 :).
Haha, don't sweat it, it was for a rolling part change, to accommodate some little resistor or something like that, no real difference in units.

Just got the new Contour HD 1080P. Can someone tell me which firmware is supposed to be.

The FW_RTC.txt says it is FW version:1080 v1.12. Seems if the Contour HD is 1.26 mine should be at least that.

essentialy its a different beast inside so the firmware is different hence the lower number, mine is the same my contour has a higher number than my 1080, i wouldn't worry :-)

But the (new shipping) CountourHD ( serials starts with 93xxxxx ) are running s/w v1.29
