That lens adapter is pretty sweet. Considering how close in size the camera already is, it really should have had those threads to begin with. This is a good option though.

Some features and positive pluses when using the CamClamp

*From the slight pressure of the CamClamp the battery has a tighter fit.
*Quick and easy removal for multiple location mounting, switching to multiple users etc.
*With the two contoured swiveling mounting pads it attaches to uneven surfaces firmly and solidly.

do you do any other colours (or colors, im a limey ;-) ) other than pink???
---

XVUSA

Ha! Well it is actually a deep red color, i don't think the video does the color justice. The red color is kind of a branding, the signature of our brand. I have a minimum amount of sets I have to make to get over the minimum cost of anodizing and planned to make some black sets. So to answer your question, yes I can offer you black it just might take an extra week to get it to you. I'm starting to calculate international shipping now, can you tell me your city and postal code, I'd like to use it as an example for "across the pond" shipping.

Thanks,

Pat

Thank you helis,

PM me your city and postal code and I will add it to our international shipping and send you the rate. Since the device is lightweight shipping is reasonable even for overseas rates.

We received a great question about the CamLens lens protector so I thought I would post it here.

How much and does it interfere with the field of view?

Not at all, when installed correctly there is no sign of the CamLens in the recorded footage.

any chance of the lens protector being easily adapted to add a skirt to make the camera a bit more waterproof?

XVUSA

At the inner rear of the CamLens is an O-ring that creates a seals between the front of the Factory lens and the back of the CamLens. So the CamLens protects the front of the factory lens only. We have performed water test with the CamLens and the factoyr lens stays dry but at the same time we covered the rest of the camera because of other possible areas where water might enter the camera housing.

is that velcro you are using, it doesnt look like it.

XVUSA

Not velcro, it's an industrial fastener made by 3M called Dual Lock.

http://solutions.3m.com/wps/po...

We use a combination of the 250 and 400 stems per inch 1" wide fastener strips on both the CamClamp helmet pads and whatever surface you want to attach it to. We have applied the Dual Lock to helmets, bike fairings, chest protectors and buggy fenders. It is low profile and best off all allows you to remove your camera and mount it somewhere else. Very solid and reliable mount.

If anyone is curious about the stability and versatility of the CamClamp mount. Check out this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

The camera was mounted on the fork of a R1 using our 1" ball adapter and a tube clamp mount. There is helmet footage in the mix also using our helmet pad mounts with Dual Lock.

Thanks Pat. Posted a video after hot gluing the seams of the lower housing to the upper and if you listen to my first post and this one (when it appears, uploaded a couple hours ago) and set the volume bar the same I think I've made some headway.
Looking forward to next week and mounting a cam in the back and front.

Thanks to everyone who placed orders with us, shipments have been going out since Friday, you should all have your orders soon.

The new version of the CamClamp is out and all of you who placed orders will be receiving the new version.

http://www.xvusa.com/images/ca...

The new version is 1 oz lighter than the previous version bringing it down to 2.5 oz. No change in the stability and versatility just 35% lighter.

For those of you who purchased please be sure to check our youtube channel for step by step videos of installation of the CamClamp and CamLens. I recommend viewing the CamClamp install specifically when setting up your helmets so you can get the best location and technique to insure the best hold to your helmet and great looking video. New Videos are going up all this week, check back on a daily basis if you do not see the instructional you are looking for.

Sorry no, the mounts are all anodized in red, our branding color. I can say that the red color on the new version of the CamClamp is brighter than what you see on the video and web page.

Have you seen this?

Ok, I ordered all three products.

I have a question:
Does the CamClamp comes with the knob that attaches to
the record button?

The reason I'm asking is because on your website pictures of the CamClamp, it shows the knob.
But in the description of what's included, does not mention the knob.

I would like to be included please.

ATTENTION 1080 OWNERS who ordered a CamLens

The 1080 lens is slightly oblong causing a fitting issue with the CamLenses shipped over the last week. The factory bezel measures 34.08mm at the top and 33.99 at the sides. If you have the 1080 or plan to upgrade we will replace your CamLens with one that will fit the 1080 better. The current production of CamLenses are modified to work with both the 720 and 1080.

Sorry for the inconvenience, contact us ASAP if you need a replacement

I recently purchased this and drove to San Marcos to have Pat install it. Great Guy. He installed two mounting points and gave me some extra adhesive in case i needed it. Anyways i took this up to Mammoth Mountain and got lots of compliments. People really liked the look and stability of both the camera and mount.. I had it mounted near the top of my Helmet and when i took a nasty tumble it stayed on. Just blew the snow off and kept going. Great Product. I'm going to try a polarizing filter and see how that works. i'll post vids later.

Still testing the clamp out...but how do you access the rear of the camera with the clamp on? I can't get the rubber cover to slide off unless I move the clamp forward past the best mount points.

XVUSA

Hey Charlie,

Actually you do want the mount up beyond the back cover. Even though part of the clamp is not making full contact at the front of the camera it was designed to work that way. With the back door open move the clamp just far enough forward to allow you to open and close the door. I'll post a photo later today showing the mounting locations.
