I am new to the Video editing game and finding that most of the software I have on my computer is not setup for MOV or HD. I was wondering what the ContourHD users are finding is the best editor out there to edit/cut/make pretty your videos. Any opinions apprciated!

Check out Pinnacle Studio 14. I've been using Studio since the 8 version and no problems. If you want to spend bigger bucks, there are a lot of them out there.

Final Cut Pro. I can drag the movs straight in and start cutting, although the audio does need to be rendered first. Not a major problem though as for the 10 hours of footage I have shot so far, none of the audio has been useable, so I just delete the audio and get on cutting.

Vegas Pro here...

I use Cyberlink PowerDirector 8 . I find it simple and it's faster than some others I have tried (e.g. Adobe). Like someone else said, there is quite the selection of software out there. I wanted something that I didn't have to spend tons of time learning.

Vegas PLatm series... works great and has the Music generator and DVD burner package included

Will Cyberlink let you add music?
---
Yes it does. You can also clip your video to the lenght of your music.

FCP here but haven't tried an intercut with 1080p footage yet...

Vegas Pro 8

CamClamp & CamLens for 20Twenty Cams
Vegas Platinum 9b, although the sound is very slightly off synch.

Vegas, maybe Imovie if 1080p is too much for my computer (i usualy transcode to 720p anyways)

Vegas pro 9.
That soft have a lot of professional transitions and video effects like bleach bypass, glow...
It's fast and work with a lot of fformats. You can add even audio 5.1 to your videos.

Easy Edit software of course ;) ..ok and Sony Vegas 9 studio =for HD, preContourHD = Movie Maker worked fine with the standard VholdR and was easy. Studio has more bells then i can ring. Took a while to get the basics down which delayed some camera/riding time. Pic and Pic with Vegas is nifty.
Final Cut Pro 7
Vegas Pro 9.
I tried PowerDirector 8 - was very disappointed in it.
Ii´m still having problem with sony vegas 9. When import a video, the sound dont coming. no Sound. Just in vegas
i had tried some codecs, but nothing.
im in the process of getting this sorted with sony at the moment, if you have the latest verion of quicktime there is an issue with vegas understanding it, you have to uninstall quicktime and the install the older version so that you can rename it to mp4 and get the sound back. i will post in the "software" forum when i have a definative answer from sony. you can check the "software" forum as there is a dedicated thread about this issue.
I use sony vegas 9, I import the clip with the terrible ez edit software, import the clunky .mov file to windows movie maker, put it on the timeline and publish it as a .wmv, put that file into vegas 9 or WMM, edit and render as 1280 x 1080. haven't had any synch problems.
you dont have to use easyedit to import , you can drag and drop the file from the camera into the vholdr video file this is loads quicker, just remember to rename the file before so you can trace it easier.
I started out with Vegas 9b, but had sound issues (was out of sync). With Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (CS4) I have no such problems.
