I'm French and i want to buy a ContourHD 1080p, i looked in your "where to buy" section, but there's no one in France. I looked in all Europe but there's not a lot of websites that sells it online.
I finally saw that the ContourHD is avaible (in pre-order) on Amazon. But they ships only in US !!!
So my question is : Where can I order (or pre-order, i don't care) a ContourHD 1080p camera that can be shipped to france ??

there is two online webshops that can ship abroad from sweden.
www.spotscam.se in thier terms and conditions it says they can ship to other countries, but the text is only avalible in swedish (which i find very funny).

or www.cyberphoto.se they dont have any information in english but in swedish it says they can ship abroad to finland, denmark and DPD international. i dont know what that means but i think it means global.

NOTE!!!! both of them list the 720 version in stock (nothing about pre-order or 1080 version at all), so if you want to order/pre-order make sure they understand that its the new version that is not released yet you want.

I finaly baught it on B&H. For europeens, it's much more interesting to buy it in Dollars, numbers are the same, but when you translate in euros, you save 30% of the price.
I'm now waiting for the reseller send it to me, then i'll take it every where :D

I usually don't, but it can appens that customs officer open the box and bill you the VAT.
For now it just appened once to me. in the worst case,you get it to the same price than here (if i correctly remenber).

Well, I tend to buy stuff from the U.S. quite often, and in my experience almost everything that comes from outside the EU that is more expensive than around 50 dollars (including shipping) is checked here (in the Netherlands).
Then the customs add VAT *over both the value, the shipping and insurance costs* if the value is less than around 30 dollars for the goods alone, which the shipping company then adds another 15 to 20 US$ to for customs handling costs). If the value is over 150 euro (~220 US$) then you get not only the problem of an import tax being slammed on the goods, but also VAT over the value of the goods, shipping *and* the import tax!. That can be between 24 and 30%, to which the shipping company then also adds a lot higher "customs handling costs price. I've had to pay over 60 euro for a package worth 60 euro, for which the shipping costs were around 40 euro. That's 60% on top of what I already paid in the US. :-(
It's clearly not always cheaper to buy stuff outside the EU. Besides, I paid 185 euro incl shipping for my Contour-HD here in the Netherlands.
where did you buy it? im having trouble finding anyone in europe that has them in stock

Mind you, they are quite expensive, and so far I have had more than one very bad experience with their unhelpful and unfriendly customer "service". Besides owing me a refund for the wrong helmet mount that they shipped to me, they have so far sent me three defective Vholdr Contour-HD camera's, all of which had several broken pixels. Today just received notice that they have received the third Contour-HD that I shipped back to them for replacement... Despite asking them repeatedly to test the camera before shipping it to me, they keep sending me camera's with broken pixels. :-(

i think i will pass, and my dutch ist good enough to buy on that site anyway :-p
i've received mine last week, and i had to pay for an extra VAT, so my contourHD costs me 294€ + 110€ VAT.
Finally the price is the same, if you take a look a wilko's distributer, the camera is 350€ (i bought several accessoiries)
