Your computer most likely is too slow to handle the video. Are you using a Contour HD or Contour
HD1080?
I would try VLC player that may help your problem
Are you playing from the UNit itself via usb or your hard drive?
QuickTime Player, to my knowledge runs Contour's files the most efficiently. If it's choppy with your favorite player, try that. If it's much smoother there, then the camera/SD card are fine.
If it's choppy, well it could still be anything.
Playing HD video at full size can be taxing on the average computer though. Odds are you need to upgrade your computer's video card.
edit: Try downloading and playing a sample video to be sure your computer can handle it.
i got the 1080HD. my copmuter is pretty new, so i didn't think it was my computer. ive tried watchin the vids in the lowest setting, but it still skipped.
ive played the vids in quicktime only. haven't converted teh files for vlc yet. illl do that after work today. ill also try reducing video quality.
where can i download teh sample video? i watched all the videos on this website and its fluid.
My home PC is the same, skips, my work PC is pretty much the same spec but plays smooth...
