There's generally Pal in Europe. I live in Poland, but I use 30fps and find it OK.
I play my movies on my Mac and PS3, it works fine.
I don't think I need 25fps camera :)
you are right for viewing on a computer it does not matter because the digital signal
and for the TV is set because the analog signal. We have an analog TV not digital
What would you understand what the difference is turn on the camera to a TV via AV video, on TV select PAL mode and you'll see that the picture is bad and the sound slowly
We have been requesting a pal version for some time now and it has been falling on deaf ears.
It's funny to hear all the people in NTSC land say there is no big differance and you can easily convert it. I bet if it was a PAL camera they would have a differant tune.

I don't think it's quite fair to say "deaf ears" vidman. These forums are an open area to express your opinions and ideas and we read everything that is posted. Unfortunately, we cannot always address everything that comes our way. Variable frame rates was something that we talked about and wanted to include, but just wasn't an option in this release. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I hope you'll believe me when I say that we really tried not to.

NholdR. I do not wish to annoy you but as you kow this was first suggested over 6 months ago where some very valid points were bought up. The main one being that to convert 30 to 25 makes the vision jumpy. Extremely annoying.
Please at sometime try converting some vision to 25 frames and have a look at the end result. I am sure that you would agree that it is not good. This is unfortunately magnified by the fact that we are dealing with progressive.
Since the first request you have annouced a new product with alot of software upgrades which is all that would be needed to make an option of 25/50 frame rate.
Some of my cameras are being used this month for the solar race in here in Australia. The producer has gone with the POV for a HD project. I ended up sending him a contourHD for free to try and show what it can do. He does however have to be very careful what he films with it. It will work well looking back at the driver but for it to to be placed on the outside of any of the solar cars will highlight the problems with NTSC. The producer would rather upres SD.
Vidman, no annoyance at all. I just need to reiterate the point that while we try to incorporate as much feedback as possible, there are no promises that what you post in the forum will be included in future versions.
That being said, we continue to take a look at feedback like this and try to work it in wherever possible. One of our lead developers has an extensive background in the broadcast industry and knows this scenario all to well, so at the very least, you can know that the urgency is there, we just haven't had the opportunity to close this case just yet.
You know, I shoot films for television http://video.mail.ru/mail/batr... what would these films, shown on television, they must be shooted PAL camera, if I shoot a NTSC camera will need to be transcoded to PAL. I lose image quality and spend a lot of time
You do not necessarily PAL and I need
Is HD content in PAL land still only 25fps? I would have thought they would have upgraded the standard to 30. What's the point of a high resolution digital format if it's still a slide show?
The worm has turned. Pal use to be the better of the 2 in res but now they are both equal in res with pal having a smaller frame rate. Funny thing is, some people want to go even slower with 24p.

BluRay supports multiple framerates, from 24 to 60fps.
Indeed analog theaters have used 24fps for many years. But even those are switching to digital and will likely increase resolution and framerates in the coming years.
What for?

I work on TV in Russia. We PAL.Transcoding NTSC > PAL spoil the quality of the picture.Problem in the 30fps to 25

Once again. I don't see a point in native 25fps.
I live in Poland, so there is Pal here.
You cannot plug the contour HD directly into any TV.
When I want to see my material on tv I play it on PS3 OR:
burn it onto normal DVD via iDVD (MAC software) and there
is no loss in fluency.
What do you use to edit/conver/burn your movies?

Isn't that because BlueRay itself is 24 frames per second and is cinema standard.
