I just got my ContourHD and downloaded the software from the link provided on the provided 2GB memory card. However, the software does not run after install. It installs fine, but when I click the executable, I get nothing. If I watch Task Manager very carefully, I can see the exe fire, but then it disappears again as though I never started the program.
I have tried on two seperate Windows XP Pro machines.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Joe Coulter

Hey JCoulter,
Could you please email this to best-testing@vholdr.com? I think there is a couple of tests they need to run with you.
Thanks,

Will do.
BTW - I just shot my first rounds of video with the ContourHD. Very impressed with it overall, but I am getting a bit of purple vertical lines on the image. I am posting the video and will include this issue with the software issue in my email.
Thanks for the quick response.
Joe
Hmm... If it's really bright out and it's a slim singular line, it could just be a reflection in the sun. I think it happens between the lens cover and the new lens. If it's multiple lines, with no relation to the sun then you probably just want to hit the support email.

Resolved the software issue with the new build Beta-Testing emailed me. Thanks guys!!
Hi I have same problem as you. Can you send me that new build? Thanks

pdovhomilja,
You can try the latest version here: http://vholdr.com/support/soft...
If that doesn't work please email beta-testing and they'll work with you.
Thanks,

And I've got the same problem too. I tried emailing beta-testing@vholdr.com, but emails bounce with message: "We're writing to let you know that the group that you tried to contact (beta-testing) either doesn't exist, or you don't have permission to post to it."
My systems are Windows Vista Home Premium SP2, and Windows Vista Business SP2.

I found a work-around (it's not a permanent fix, that'll have to come from the EasyEdit software development team). Work-around for me is:
1. Get a copy of ieshims.dll and save it into the same folder as the EasyEdit software.
2. Add folder containing jawt.dll to my PATH environment variable.
The ieshims.dll problem is due to a security update by Microsoft. Google ieshims.dll to find lots of information.
The jawt.dll problem is probably unique to my configuration. I have a Java development environment as well as Java runtime environment. The jawt.dll file is included in the Java runtime, but not the Java development.

I've mailed to best-testing@vholdr.com three days ago, but did not get an answer. The problem is, that I cannot set the resolution for my ContourHD 1080p. In the manual I read that the LO default resolution is 720p @ 60 fps. But it's 1280x960 at 30fps.
can you open the screen for adjusting the camera in the tools selection at the top?
Sorry, did not make clear that the primary problem ist that the Software does not start at all. Same behavior as described above. But as I use another software for editing I only have the problem with setting up the camera.
i assume that you unistalled and reinstalled.
When I got my ContourHD I installed it - some months ago. Didn't work. When I got the 1080p, I wanted to uninstall, but didn't find it in the software list. I Installed the current version. Did not work. Now I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Didn't help either.
did you look in 'control panel' and then 'programmes and features' it should be listed in there....
Yes (I did not mention it, because I have the German Windows - did not know how it was called in English Windows). But I already uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Version - but does not work. Seems to be the same issue as the other posters here.
that might be the cause of the problem being german windows, i know another user from turkey was having difficulties with his turkish version not letting the programme run. email support@vholdr.com and they will get back to you. just remember the 8 hour or so time difference though :-)
Thanks. I mailed to best-testing@vholdr.com three days ago. But maybe this email address is not active any more as this thread is 6 month old.
start a cmd line, go to the directory of the contourHd software (it contains a file named vholdr-desktop.jar ).. and just type this commande :
java -cp hessian-3.2.0.jar;jmf.jar;jogl.jar;miglayout15-swing.jar;sqlite.jar;jcalendar-1.3.3.jar;vholdr-desktop.jar com.vholdr.app.Main
it will tell you why it is not starting ;)
