I have a PC and I never really used .mov files before for editing. Usually I would use VirtualDub but this program can not cope with .mov (Quicktime) files.
I do not need to do much with the files, just some clipping and joining is actually sufficient.
However: I recently bought the ContourHD car windshield mount kit, this kit holds the device upside down, so movies are upside down as well.
So it would be nice if the Easy Edit software could flip the image (upside down). It would also be nice if the program would not use java as platform, java is a resource hog (on Windows PCs) and clipping 20 seconds from a file on my home PC (a 5050e dual core AMD running Vista) takes so long I don't even wait for it to finish. Also since I use Firefox, it would seem that when I have Firefox browser open, the Easy Edit software seems to be in queue and never starts.
The new type windshield mount itself is very clunky and heavy, it has fallen off my windshield about 10 times now (so personally I am not too happy with it..).
So in short: would be nice if Easy Edit could do clipping, joining and flipping and multicore encoding would also make me very happy ;-)

there are a few things you can do...... you could use a converter like AVS to convert the mov to an avi file so that you can work on it with virtualdub.
the windsheild mount is very adjustable, i mount mine so that the camera is horizontal so that i can rotate the lens either way so that its not upside down ( i know it will all depend on you individual car, ive got a '96 honda civic and a '56 landrover not to mention the minis!)
now i dont want to offend you but you are using the suction cup locking lever right? ive lifted a 5 gallon drum full of oil with mine, just to prove how good they were.. ive also had mine on the outside of a car going down the road and it sticks like 'shit to a blanket' , if you know what i mean ;-)
Dave.
