I think that a video out connector is very very important to be a complete camera.
Is important for example to connect an external video recorder , TV or video Transmitter ( video Live ). We use 2.4 Tx video Transmitter to send video live in our sport shows. With this cammera we cant :(

It would be great, however adding those would most likely add to size and dimensions of the overall camera. They are cramming some pretty insane stuff into a VERY small device!
I would like to see a device that can directly play those memorycards! Wish my Blackberry PDA did that, or the IPHONE!
thats a good call, just a small lcd screen(say 6or7 inch) a card slot, and basic abilities for checking the footage taken, or even a usb port so that you can plug the camera in and use the desktop............ oh yeah thats a laptop isnt it! im such a fool :) and they have bigger screens woo hoo!!

One of the main reasons we decided to go without any external outputs is to avoid the different formats of each region. There is the NTSC standard in the US and three different types of PAL formats.
To accommodate all of these would have added to development time and eventual cost to the users.
Now, if you work in the broadcast industry and you have a specific need, you might try emailing partners@vholdr.com with your request, and they can see what options we have from that end.

I post here in representation of thousands FPV ( first person view ) pilots that fly ours aeromodels by wireless video.
In interesting like davidwhitefield said to see in an external monitor what are you are recording.
You can do 2 models,, VHOLDR standar and VHOLDDR pro ( with video ouput ) in 2 versions Pal or NTSC.
Is just a Suggest in representation of thousands potential clients ( I am the aeromodelismovirtual.com administrator ).

I want to plug a ContourHD directly into my Archos 7" HD tablet and view the output in real time, as an HD rear view cam/display on my motorcycle. The Archos accepts USB 2.0 input.
Will the contour output real time video to a computer?
Contour will only connect as a mass storage device, so streaming to a PC or Archos in your case is not an option. This is a cool idea though...

Thanks. I will have to wait for another version then. I can use a regular webcam, but they aren't built for outdoor use and I wonder how long they would last. There are of course other cams out there, but none with the Contour's features and resolution.
If I may pick your brain, what is your best suggestion for a wide-angle weather resistant cam with a video out connection?

Got to agree that it would be a killer option.
It is just too cumbersome to have to take a snippet in riding mode, D/L it, View it, make small adjustment and repeat. The laser helps, but for distance perspective it would be helpful to just eb able to jack into anything else (TRV900 for me) that allows video to get a live view and make adjustments. You can say you are already camped for space, but a certain competitor is rumored to be offering a 'backpack' set-up soon to emulate the VIO-POV view on demand.
PLEASE VIDEO OUT! - even if I loose my warranty while opening and soldering a video out - simply tell me where I´ll find the internal connectors - shouldn´t be so complicated :)
