check the battery is seated ok as it has a habit of uncliping when the cover is opened, mine does on a random basis.

I agree with davidwhitefield. The battery tab that's holding the battery itself in place can sometimes rub on the back door, so that when opened, it's unseating the battery a bit and shutting down the unit. You can carefully bend down the tab a bit to keep it from rubbing.

I have the same issue, the damn thing worked fine one minute then I shut it off and now it wont turn on. I've checked the battery, bent the tab down some, held it in tighter by hand, basicly everything I can think of short of taking it apart. WTF?
My wife got me this for my birthday in June, and I used it for a bit around the house here then put it away. Today I was going for a ride out to Death Valley, so I charged it overnight and then this morning I went to mounted it on the bike and took off. When I got into the interesting part of the ride, NOTHING! Pushed and held the button, took out the battery to reset the thing, all with no help. It allmost got sailed off the top of a cliff I was so pissed. Anyway I'm home now and would like to know what to do.

im guessing that you have a metal tag to hold the battery in and not the orange plastic one?

I'm having the exact same problem. I got the cam yesterday, used it for about 30 mins. Today, I tried to turn it on, and nothing anymore. I have the orange plastic thing to hold the battery... What should I do now? If I move the battery a little and hold it with my hand, the light turns green and then if I press to power on, it becomes red. I also tried removing the battery and connecting the cam to the pc with the usb but that doesn't work either...

OK, I see a few people are having the same problem as me.
I have 2 batteries, I can leave them plugged into the usb on my laptop (plugged in) and the light goes red but it never seems to get a charge. When it is plugged in with the usb and I have the software open, is says "No cameras detected"
I have seen others also used it for only a few minutes before it never worked again. Did anyone ever find a solution to this?

Kentor,

I'm guessing you need a new battery, something's wrong with your fit, hit up support and they'll hook you up.

Slurbus,

Are you using a VholdR? If so it needs to be fully booted before connecting to your computer. Does that help?

NholdR What seems to be the cause of the dead battery cases? The battery that came with my vholdr took a crap so support sent me a new one and now I have this problem with the camera not turning on anymore? I got a green indicator light after the charge too :(

It's a sparse variety of things. As you can see this thread is a year old. It happens rarely and for different reasons here and there. If you're camera's not turning on anymore it may not even be related to your battery. Either way contact support and they'll sort you out.

Thanks!
