[UPDATED: 05.15.08]
.
Here’s a quick synopsis of some answers to commonly asked questions regarding the charging of your VholdR camera.
.
The red LED on the back doesn’t change to green, what’s wrong?
We’re currently working on a firmware update that we hope will solve this problem. On the average it takes roughly three hours for the VholdR to fully charge, that may depend on your USB port; but if you leave it charging for three full hours you should be good to go.
.
The red LED on the back doesn’t ever go out. Is my VholdR charged?
This is related to the same issue from above. We’ve seen the red LED stay lit, dim, or go out after the camera is fully charged, but the best rule to live by is charge for a full three hours.
.
My red charging LED flickers, or does not light up. Why?
Check to make sure the battery is seated fully in the slot. Some times the clip won’t hold the battery fully in the slot when the rear hatch is open (also something we’re looking into). Testing the battery (if possible) can rule out camera or battery as the issue and we can go from there.
.
I have a wall charger; can I use that to charge the VholdR battery?
While I can’t officially say yes, I have heard that some users have used other chargers with the batteries that come with the camera successfully. Make sure you check the voltage so you don’t run into any safety issues though.
.
My camera worked fine before, but now it won't boot up. What gives?
If the light is blinking then here are the most common items:
1. Your battery is not fully seated or has been inserted upside down. Simple fix.
2. Your USB cable is loose or not fully connected to the PC. Simple fix.
3. Your battery or charging circuit is dead, not as simple a fix, but we will try to make it painless.
So far we have seen very few 3s, but if you think that is the case give us a call and we'll take care of you.
.
If you have any other questions concerning the battery and charging please comment here and I’ll respond as soon as I can.

My battery life is very short. It goes dead after ten or so minutes of use, and even dies when the camera is off. The unit was purchased 14 Jul 08.
i was riding today with a charged battery, but when i stopped recording, there was no beep, and when i got home i found that the camera had shut down and will not power back on, even with hours of charging.
besides the countless problems I had with my first camera and the nightmare sending it back and getting another (Customs charges etc) the second camera still has all the usual problems + the thing won't turn off and whilst in this state it won't record. I thought I would drain the battery and start again, then charged it turned it on but it still won't turn off and it keeps corrupting my SD cards (They work fine in my other cameras). So I thought I would take the battery out and wouldn't you know it, the battery won't come out. No idea what to do next, chuck it in the trash I suppose.
