Can anyone please tell me if there's a certain way of removing the adhesive pad without scratching the surface? Anything I need to pay attention, or anything I'm supposed to use (like alcohol, glycerin, etc)

Googone will remove any residual foam/glue left on the surface without a scratch. Just use you fingernails. It worked like a charm for me.
