Unfortunately, after more than 2 months my contour HD option pack and the vented helmet mount still haven't arrived from the local supplier, and the first paintball game during which I want to use the camera on my Vforce Grillz mask is coming up fast.
Has anyone here managed to attach their Contour-HD to a Vforce Grillz paintball mask with only the flat surface mount or the goggle strap mount and without damaging the mask?
I've given it some long and hard looks, but simply gluing the flat surface mount to the mask won't work since the angle is wrong, besides, the glue will probably not survive prolonged contact with paint.
I've had a look at the goggle strap, but that seems like it will mount the helmet too far back. I'm now wondering if I can create something out of elastic strap material to keep it at the right place and at the right angle...
I have mounted the camera just fine to my Vforce Profilers. What I have done is used zip ties, the same ones that are used by many fields to mark tanks. I did a box-like design with 2 on each side and then top and bottom. This way the zip ties are linked to each other keeping them tight and also allows some motion with the camera to move and adjust. I did not use the sticky material to connect to my mask.
