I recently saw a VholdR video of a guy that did some tests with his camera. He taped his camera to his bikes windscreen so that all but the lens was behind the screen. I thought his noise reduction from wind results was worth trying to come with something on my own.
I used an empty calcium pill bottle and fashioned it in such a way as to slide over the camera when installed on my helmet. Fastened it to the helmet with industrial strength Velcro. The camera will also slide out of the V mount without removing the wind shield.
I just finished it, and it's late, so I haven't had a chance to test it. It ain't pretty, but if it works, I'll worry about aesthetics later.
