Well, I've tried almost everything that was posted up here, with no good results. I use this on my helmet camera when I'm dirt biking. I havn't tried it yet on the bike, but I do have an industrial fan in my house which blows a ton of wind. Just watch the video and their is some good results so far. Once I try it on my bike(could be another week or so), I'll post up my results.
I'm extremely dissapointed with the VholdR, but because twentytwenty won't do anything about it, I figured I would post my results to help everyone else here.
You can also watch all my mx videos on youtube, and the wind noise is extremely annoying on all of them.
Anyways, here you go!

My request to VholdR, create a windscreen for the unit. It could clip onto the mount rails and cover the front of the unit.
Like when your driving and stick your hand out the window, then put it behind the mirror- huge difference.
As anyone here that has tried several different methods to eliminate/lessen noise can attest, a screen isn't going to do it. The mic and the way it's implemented in the design needs redoing.
I commend you for your ingenuity tho. I'd say you lessened noise by close to 30-40%.
I too commend you for your efforts- it works like a charm!
Additionally, I agree with the point that it is quite similar to sticking your head out the window- that is the difficult part with trying to capture audio with action sports.
i used a method of fiitting a loose bit of fluffy material around the camera when riding in the french alps last year, it looks a bit crap but it done the trick, [IMG]http://i710.photobucket.com/albums
sod it try this link http://i710.photobucket.com/al...
Looks a bit like what I use except I completely cover up VholdR except for the lens.

I'll have to say it annoyed me also but in testing the ContourHD out, wind noise is way down.
Its not WHAT you ride, Its THAT you ride...
Ive found that putting a piece of claybar (auto detailing) material on top of tape that covers the mic hole will pretty much eliminate all wind noise.
Its not WHAT you ride, Its THAT you ride...
I used two pieces of masking tape over the mic hole. I ride a 2 stroke 250 and the only time you hear any wind noise, is 4-5 gear, and it's negligible.
VholdR told me to leave the laser warning sticker on it. Even though it covers the hole for the mic, they said it reduces wind noise.
NewBlueFX has an audio scrubber that can clean up wind noise by dropping the effect on the audio track.
SoundForge can do it, too - but is more advanced. While it can do a better job, it is more difficult to use (until you use it a couple times).
A piece of foam, fur or neoprene can block most win noise, too. Note the pro news casters in windy outdoor newscasts. They have a fur or foam sock on the mic.
