Here's my solution to the wind noise problem:

Needles to say, the mic with the long line eliminates all wind noise as you can place it just about anywhere. I wish the VholdR guys replace the embedded mic with a 3.5mm jack. This way we can use multiple types of mics.

What are you using your ContourHD for?
I did a similar conversion and am using it on my motorcycle but am picking up a lot of static noise now from higher RPM ranges, any ideas what I can do to get rid of that?

Are you using the original mic? Try using a different mic, you can get them from Radio Shack or you local computer/electronics store. You can also use mics form headsets.

well i think i got most of the static sorted out, used more high end connectors and not the cheap stuff and also encased the mic so only the front end is exposed, really working well now :)
