I noticed for some reason importing video directly to vegas strips off the sound stream. I tried various things including stripping the audio with a different app and importing separately.
The the lightbulb clicked on and I renamed the file from .mov to .mp4 and it imports directly without a problem.
Not sure if this error occurs in any other app.
also cliping the vid in easy edit and then importing to vegas does the same,dont have to clip the footage either for it to work.

I'm using Vegas 9.0-b and don't have any audio problems. What version of Vegas are you using?
