Lost my Vholdr :-(

shortlhand

Just a warning to all.

After 4 months of not riding due to a broken scapula,Finally started getting some good footage with my camera. On the weekend slid the Vholdr onto the adhesive base plate that has been on my helmet for the last 12 months. After 20min of non stop riding on flat flowing fire break trails we stopped for a break and no Vholdr.

The adhesive backing was still stuck onto my helmet but the center part which the Vholdr actually attaches to via heavy duty velcro had come out with the camera still attached.

1hr of looking to no avail.

After all my time off work another camera is not on the cards unfortuanatly.

So all please be aware just because the outer base plate has a safety leash the camera can still be lost.

Funny... I just got mine today. I was testing the Flat Surface Mount. Haven't even used the camera but my mount came apart too... the Velco pulled out of the half that mounts to the Cam rail... needs some quality control.
(service sending out a new one so no complaint with that half)

I almost lost mine today, first time out. Same thing, that heavy velcro is aweful!

I got the base secured to the underside of my fairing, beneath the headlight just fine, and the first wheelie and the camera popped off.

Luckily, I took that tethering strap and tie-wrapped the other end to the underside of the fairing, so that I did not lose the camera. Bounced around a bit, but no damage that I can see.

So I checked out the part that popped off, and that heavy velcro is not up to the task. So before putting it back in, I slathered it up with silicone adhesive, that stuff they use to join and seal the seams on glass aquariums... That should keep it from coming off, and dampen any wobble or slack in there.

As soon as it dries I will go test it again...
