Hey Helmet Cam, i know the feeling when miss recording a great run. What happens when you record a video now? Can you try recording a few videos at home and seeing if it records? Normally if you hear the beep you are good to go so if it's not recording, contact us so we can take care of you. Thanks.

I get that as well.
It is not funny!

Except, I get several .99mb corrupt video files.
Like the camera started to record, built the file, then stopped.
Then you get home to find nothing.
After the camera chares back up again, it works fine.

Is your on/off record switch loose? If so any big movement can/will turn it off on your own.

I put a zip tie on around my unit on the switch so this does not happen.

I ran a HS on Sunday and had the exact same issue. The pre-race footage is intact (2 min at the starting line). Turned the camera back on when it was my turn, got the lasers and the beep and anh hour later had a corrupt file. No one seems to know why.

If the camera recorded a corrupt file you can recover it by using a program that several users have recommended:
http://vholdr.com/forums/suppo...
If your SD card has become corrupt I would recommend reformatting the SD card and making sure that the battery keeps contact- if it loses contact it will record a corrupt file.
For individual problems with your camera please send an email to support@vholdr.com.

I experienced the same problem & I think it has to do with the vibration of the bike. Apparently the battery loses contact and the camera shuts off. Try adding something under the orange battery tab to push it in and hold it down securely.

One of my 2 VholdR cams did the exact same thing yesterday at Pacific Raceways. Batteries were all charged, boot up sequence goes perfectly, got the confirming beep when sliding big button forward and then when the bike comes back into the pits one of the 2 cams has auto shut off. When I go to download the video it shoes it built the file but stopped at some point. I can't access the video (error file) so I can't tell at what point it is shutting off. I did notice (when I got home and looked closely) that the batter doesn't seem to seat very well in the slot. The little metal spring doesn't hold it down. I can press in the battery in and it shows that it's charging but when I take my finger off of the battery it starts blinking red really fast and erratically. I just purchased my 2 VholdR's from B & H photo a couple of weeks ago.

hey mate....when you turn on the camera to 'boot up' you need to hold the on button for several seconds.

if your memory card is full.....obviously you need to delete it to create space.

try holding the on button for longer.

I just bought the HD camera. I have exactly the same problem, the camera turns on perfectly fine, you can even shake it and nothing goes wrong. Slide the record lever and by the time I hit the track (3 min) I looked over at the camera and no light! So in 3 minutes it somehow died. Mind you, I've tested the camera and ran it for a considerably long time, not in motion. So something related to the vibration has been causing it not to work. One of my buddies has a slightly newer one and his has no problems, so I know these cameras CAN work... If someone can get back to me, that would be great. I've already tried the support line...

battery! if its a snug fit then it should be ok but if there is a slight gap(say apx10 thou) then you need to contact support, it should have 1050Mha written on it . :)
