This is a video of my attempts at reducing microphone wind noise during motocross race videos.

damn, that 2-stroke sounds sweet....
bradocross - do you have a photo of the modification you made to the vholdr for noise? Thanks
The microphone is located inside the pinhole between the laser warning sticker and the slot shaped LED. I would be happy to post a picture of the modification if I knew how to post still photos on this website. Maybe someone at VholdR can provide instructions on how to accomplish this.
Where on the camera is the microphone hole?
Can you post a photo of how it looks on your VholdR?
I did not want to use foam because my intent was to deflect the wind, not disperse it, using a thick rubber surface like that found on a quarter section of rubber ball. The hollow core centers over the mic hole while the outside deflects wind noise and maintains an opening toward the rear of the camera. I used RTV silicone adhesive to attach it to the camera (be careful not to get any in the mic hole).
I've also thought a lot about this. Nice work with the windshield! I couldn't find the right object to fit to the camera, so haven't installed one yet, but I think the next step is putting foam(like the cover off an ear-bud headphone) and adhering a chunk of it over the mic hole on your VholdR. Any wind still blowing over the mic will now get dispersed before the mic picks it up as sound!
