We love Macintosh and many of us at VholdR are lifetime Mac users, so we’re hard at work developing VholdR Desktop for Mac, which we plan to have completed in the fall. That doesn't mean you can't currently use the VholdR camera with your Mac! Here's some directions to get you started.

Connect VholdR

When you connect VholdR, a new drive should appear on your desktop. It should appear as ‘untitled’ if you did not previously format your card with a select name. Double click on the icon to open up the file menu of your VholdR. Select and drag the video clips to your desktop or a new folder.

Xvid Codec

In order to play your VholdR videos you will need an Xvid compatible player (Quicktime does not play native Xvid files) or convert the VholdR videos to a Quicktime compatible file type. There's a number of players and file conversion tools you can use, but here's what we use in the office:

Player - VLC Media Player
Convert Files - FFmpegX

To play a video with the VLC player, right click on the video file and select the VLC player.

Sharing to VholdR.com

We would love to see your videos on VholdR.com, so create an account, and then upload your videos directly through the website.
