The ankle needs a little more adjustment on the angle...but it's pretty close.

I'm hoping this will crank up the intensity of the skydiving videos!

I have a few more perspectives to try...can't wait to get back in the air!

Hey, did you see the hinge/swivel mount the Belgium longboarders built? it keeps the camera level to the ground... maybe workable?

Not during freefall...relative wind would play havoc with the mount. Maybe under canopy...

What about a simple fin like on a windmill where the wind will pull it vertical and hold the camera that way. Or you could try a streamer like on a kite but coming out of the top so the wind again puls the camera straight.

Anything that is tethered would be a candidate for entanglement during canopy deployment. You have to assume that in an emergency situation you wouldn't be able to retrieve the camera. I think the aerodynamics to keep the camera steady and pointed in the right direction would be particularly difficult.

Why jump out of a perfectly good airplane? Because I have a perfectly good parachute!

Great video. I have been wanting to try that ankle angle for some time but have been holding off because I am a low number "A" jumper. Really great to see what it will look like when I finally give it a try. Looks even better than I thought it might. Good work.

Awesome mate. Great vid has totally convinced me about the Contour HD, before I watched this I wasnt sure of the whole HD thing but that is so crisp its unbelievable that it wasnt shot with a professional TV camera!
What is the song though? Great track for the film really fits well

Nice footage!
Was the noise recorded by the mic much windy? Did you protect the mic with something?

No, I didn't protect the mic but did drop the volume level about 5db in putting together the video. Otherwise it would just be too much wind noise.

Everyone else has already said how sick this vid is!!

I can't wait to see some BASE vids with an ankle mount.. maybe on a hinge like those longboarders from Belgium did!

Hi, great video, i fly a microlight and just bought one of these, im worried about lens missing inside at altitude, did you have any problems? also is there any reason you didnt fit it to your helmet? im worried the bracket will not be strong enough when flying through the air at 80mph, is that why you didnt use it?

Hi...thanks! No problems with the lens, or really any problems to speak of. Actually I have attached it to my helmet (I have a short video on how I attached it, just click on my name to see all my videos) with no problems at all...up to 160mph in a sit fly. The camera is so light that it really doesn't need anything beefy to hold it. I just put a couple of lanyards to my helmet in case I accidentially knocked the camera off.

Brings back fun memories, gotta love the "IFR" jump through the cloud.. nice!! Looks like your camera is spot on for focusing! Good for you!
